4 Tips For Attracting and Retaining Customers

Customers are the most important part of any successful business. After all, if you don’t have customers, then you have no revenue. It’s important to note however, that it’s not only important to attract new customers, but you also have to master the art of retaining them once you’ve acquired them.

The more that you engage and nourish your relationships with your customers, the more that they will recommend you to their friends and family, and the more your business will grow. Here are some of the most effective tips to attract and retain customers that stay loyal.

Know Your Target Market

The first step is knowing who you’re trying to market to. The same marketing strategies will not be as effective for a certain type of person as they will for another. People who are over the age of 70 will be less likely to react to certain marketing methods as someone who is under the age of 30. So, get to know your important demographics such as what your target age range and salary is, and fine tune your marketing so that it appeals to that group.

Send a Newsletter

While some people might think that email marketing is no longer as effective as it once was, this could not be less true. Everyone has an e-mail address, whether for personal use or for work, and it’s one of the most effective ways to get through with your marketing. A monthly newsletter is a great way to reach new clients while also engaging your current ones.  What’s more, you can even reengage past clients who might not have otherwise come back for more business.

A monthly newsletter can include everything from new and exciting events happening at your business, or even interesting information that your customers might find useful. Ideally, you should send out a newsletter at least once a month, and try to keep it as short as possible. It’s highly unlikely that your customers are going to read several paragraphs.

Provide Excellent Service

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how good of a product you’re selling, if your service isn’t where it needs to be, then people will go elsewhere for business. Make sure that your staff is well trained on how to greet customers, and how to handle issues that come up.

Always offer a solution if a customer has a concern, otherwise, poor customer service travels fast. The last thing that you want is a bad reputation which will ultimately hurt your sales.

Create a Google Business Profile

Nowadays, most people search for a product by doing a Google search initially. You want to make sure that your business comes up on top. Not only should your business be on the top of the results, but you should also make sure that you’re encouraging 5 star reviews. In other words, if customers are happy, ask them to leave you a review of their experience.
